We are proud to announce that Rachel Corboz, a talented and accomplished professional footballer with a passion for sustainability, is the newest member of the WPG Team!

Rachel is a 26-year-old French-American professional footballer who is currently playing in France’s Division 1 league for the team, Stade de Reims.

Growing up in the US, football, sustainability, and academia have always played a part in Racehl’s life. Rachel received her undergraduate degree in Government and Environmental Studies from Georgetown University. In addition to her professional football career, Rachel is currently obtaining her Master’s degree in Adaptation to Climate Change: Sustainable Development and Environment from the University of Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines in France.

Rachel’s studies and professional experience have given her a profound understanding of the importance of sustainability in football, and the role that professional players have in implementing this.

“I am really excited to join We Play Green where I hope to use my platform to spread awareness on the subject of sustainability in football,” says Rachel.

“Adapting to climate change will become increasingly more pertinent, and I believe the football world has a huge role to play in such. As the world’s most popular sport, it has an enormous impact on our society as well as an ecological impact on the planet. Football has the power to mitigate climate change and it’s time that players, fans, teams, and clubs take action.”

We are thrilled to have Rachel on board! Her passion, knowledge, and dedication to sustainability make her a valuable addition to the We Play Green team, and we are excited to see what we can achieve together.

We all have a role 2 play!
