Sokito creates player edition boot for Morten to celebrate Norway’s World Cup return

A player-exclusive collaboration between british football boot brand Sokito and We Play Green marks Morten’s journey to the world’s biggest stage.

He was two years old the last time Norway competed at a World Cup. Twenty-eight years on, he lines up alongside Erling Haaland, Martin Ødegaard and Antonio Nusa as Norway returns to the tournament.

The Scudetta Kaizen Morten Thorsby Edition is a player-exclusive boot created in collaboration with We Play Green.

It was made for only him. Rooted in identity

The design draws directly from Norway’s flag and Morten’s cultural heritage. Bold red covers the top of the boot – representing courage and strength. A white and light blue glacier pattern wraps the base of the upper, evoking Norway’s icy landscapes through what looks like hand-painted brushstrokes. Dark blue traces the boot’s lines and the Sokito logo, a nod to liberty and a visual anchor for the lighter tones throughout.

Built with the planet and nature in mind

The Scudetta Kaizen is made from 56% bio-based and recycled materials. Five icons on the heel represent the source materials: sugarcane, plastic bottles, corn, castor beans and wood fibres – a quiet reminder of what performance kit can be made from when ambition meets intention.

More than a boot

The collaboration sits alongside Morten’s broader work ahead of the tournament. We Play Green recently launched the Play More jersey with Norwegian clothing brand Northern Playground – a limited edition piece designed to draw attention to sport’s fast fashion problem. Morten has also called on FIFA to strengthen protections for players competing in extreme heat.

Morten said of the boots: “They represent where I come from, and why I think football has a role to play in protecting the nature we all depend on. Wearing them is a reminder that we all have a role to play – on and off the pitch.”

Sokito founder Jake Hardy added: “The Scudetta Kaizen Morten Thorsby Player Edition is a tribute to Morten. The person, player and activist, and all that he has achieved leading up to this moment.”
