using the power of the football family to save our rainforest

In collaboration with the Rainforest Foundation Norway, We Play Green aims to activate the football family to take action to save the rainforest.​

Deforestation is responsible for 10%-15% of the world’s greenhouse gas emissions. The consequences of rainforest deforestation are severe and will cause the extinction of vital animal and plant life, as well as exacerbate forced relocation and poverty for humans.

Join We Play Green and the Rainforest Foundation Norway in our mission to combat deforestation through exciting fieldwork events, dynamic social media campaigns, and engaging activities with our dedicated team of players. Together, we aim to educate, inspire, and mobilize the global football family to take meaningful action against deforestation.

Our comprehensive project plan features unique events like football schools located near rainforests, designed to blend the love of football with active learning and environmental education. Our team of players will leverage their social media presence to amplify the message, encouraging widespread support for the Rainforest Foundation’s vital cause.

Currently, we are running an educational documentary produced and funded by Meg Ryan’s Empowered Studio.

• The topic of the educational campaign is the impact of sports on communities & the world, featuring our founder Morten Thorsby and Anders Haug Larsen, Director of International Advocacy at Rainforest Foundation Norway.
  
• The commercial aims to create awareness and funding our Rainforest program and the Brasil campaign leading up to COP 30 in Brazil October 2025
• It will be broadcast once on primetime in over 84 million homes via MSNBC, CNBC, CNN, Bloomberg International, or an equivalent network. The educational campaign segment will also air 400 times in many of the top 100 public television channels during peak and primetime on networks such as CNBC, CNN, CNN Headline News, Discovery Life, Fox Sports One, ESPN Family of Networks, Fox Business Network, The Learning Channel, Discovery Channel.
