Meet We Play Green at Norway Cup 2025

Visit our stand at Global Goals Arena: sustainability, solutions & fun for all

We Play Green is thrilled to be at Norway Cup 2025, the world’s largest youth football tournament! This year, you’ll find us at the Global Goals Arena on Ekebergsletta, where we’re ready to mobilize the power of football for a greener future. Football reaches and inspires everyone—and together, we can accelerate the green shift. We all have a role #2play!

Buy our reusable shopping bag

  • The reusable WPG Football Bag will be available for sale in the shopping tent and at our Norway Cup stand.
  • The bag will also be on display at our stand in the Global Goals Arena.
  • Reduce plastic waste and remember your bag every time you shop!

Give your old football shirt a new life

  • Bring your old football shirt to our stand and watch it be transformed into a unique, personalized shopping bag—right on the spot!
  • A handmade bag from your own shirt is not only practical but also a great reminder to bring your bag when you go shopping.
  • The more people who reuse their bags, the less plastic we use, and the greener our future becomes.

Explore the Green Bag and Green Pass concepts

  • Meet the We Play Green team and learn about the Green Bag—our innovative ecosystem for making football gear truly circular.
  • Discover how the Green Pass can help compensate for nature costs and support grassroots transformation.
  • Bring your old boots, shirts, or other gear to our collection point and see how we can reduce waste and give new life to used equipment together.

Kunstgressdugnaden: The collective effort to solve the rubber infill problem

  • Artificial football pitches are lined with rubber granulate that pollutes nature and harms wildlife.
  • This must stop, and the football community must step up and take full ownership of the problem—including financing and communication.
  • WPG has designed “Kunstgressdugnaden”—a nationwide effort to create enthusiasm for the needed transition and to build the funding necessary to phase out the harmful granulates.
  • At our stand, you’ll learn more about what this means for Norwegian football, why it matters, and how you can help make sure nature doesn’t lose out.

Fun activities and visible results

It’s not all talk—we’re making sustainability fun and hands-on! Throughout the week, we’ll be hosting activities for kids and adults, such as:

  • Live upcycling: Watch as old shirts are sewn into bags, hats, or toiletry cases by Sisters in Business right at our stand.
  • Before/after photos: See the transformation of donated gear!
  • Stat tracker: Follow how many items have been collected and redesigned during the tournament.
  • Interviews and stories: Hear from children, youth, and parents about why they’re choosing to give their gear a new life.

Don’t forget to follow our journey on Instagram and LinkedIn, where we’ll be sharing daily updates, photos, and stories from Norway Cup.

Why does this matter?

  • We need a stronger green will among people to accelerate the green shift, and football has the power to mobilize such will.
  • Let’s talk about how you can participate. We all have a role #2play!

Come talk to us!

Whether you’re a player, coach, parent, or supporter, we invite you to visit our stand at Global Goals Arena. Bring your old gear, join in the activities, and be part of the conversation about how football can lead the way towards a greener future. Let’s show that sustainability and sport go hand in hand!
